I am a Native Nevadan who graduated from the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno in 2003. I studied photojournalism and fine art photography. Since graduation, I’ve been exploring different avenues of photography and have narrowed it down, not so narrowly though, to the genres that interest me: landscapes, portraits and special events. I exhibit my photographic works locally; contact me for a schedule of events.

I capture moments, scenes, objects and people to share with others. I am naturally skilled at bringing out the highest truth and sincere beauty of an object or person that is also pleasing to the eye. I am exploring concepts of humans integrated in the natural landscape. For example, I photograph skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, hunting, fishing, hiking and swimming. I enjoy capturing the intense feelings that a person exudes at the time of their interaction with nature. In correlation, I am good at catching people’s emotions while they interact with each other at weddings and special events. I understand the human contact and like preserving feelings of happiness emoted at such joyful times.

My passion in photography is photographing landscapes, especially those near and dear to me, meaning mostly the Nevada and Sierra Nevada areas. It is here that I grew up, where my roots are deeply seated. Making a connection with the earth and sharing my feelings at that particular time, touches me. I’m very glad to be able to explore and bring home those beautiful landscapes. I feel the photographs are appreciated by others too, especially those native to this area because they can remember this extraordinarily powerful land.

I plan to pinpoint my photographical category of expertise but for now I am satisfied with exploring the variety of genres of capturing moment of remembrance and beauty. It’s those special times that one has the opportunity to look back on through photographs to remind them of their happiness.

Scenic – All of the wonderful elements of nature contribute to a landscape of beauty and awe. I bring emotions to viewers, placing them in my shoes at the time of the capture. The photos are enjoyable and can appeal to a variety of people.

Portraits – I understand the human connection, and as a result, I am highly skilled at capturing people’s moments of truest beauty. I feel there is good beauty in all people and I enjoy highlighting the best of their features. As pertaining to my interest in photographing humans integrated into the natural landscape, I combine through double exposing in the camera the person and landscape to enhance the sense of place and preserve the moment in a powerful and creative way. I’ve also begun to photograph nudes in the landscape and find it natural for humans to be naked with the earth upon which we were born. The curves and shadows of the human body combine nicely with the shapes and tones of the landscape. Participating in a nude photo shoot, as I’ve experienced, helps revert ourselves to the simple ways of life and can be quite liberating while we start to or begin to accept and appreciate our bodies and their beauty and power.

Nevada – I am a Native Nevadan from Reno interested in photographing the vast and varied landscapes of this beautiful state. With its desolate and baron views, this land exudes peace of mind and tranquility. I enjoy capturing Nevada’s desert and am drawn in by its simplicity, calming me with its shapely patterns of sage, snow, clouds, cracks, hills and rocks. The extraordinary edges, comfy clouds, striking sage and wandering waters motivate me to photograph this majestic countryside and sharing it with others.

Skiing and Snowboarding – Humans interacting with the environment interests me. I photograph skiers and snowboarder to freeze that wonderful moment of physically, spirituality and emotionally playing with Mother Nature. It is a connection of something great!

Snow Scenics – I have been a ski patroller for six years and have a love for the winter months. The white snow exudes a feeling of freshness and purity that brings a new beginning to our lives. Nature is quiet at times in winter and at times loud. The compelling forces of wind, rain, snow and sunshine take me to a place of power and through my photography, I hope to show others that place.

Weddings – I can capture moments of love, gratitude and happiness
for the Bride & Groom. I have been sought out by people who appreciate my natural talent to photograph their special day. Preserving the big day is exciting as there are so many people involved, not only the Bride and Groom. It is wonderful to see two people in love sharing with family and friends that support their bond. Together with the partnership of my best friend and photographer, Jolene Adams, we make quality photographs from all angles and catch even the most quiet, candid moments.
